After their recent success, we caught up with the winners of the 148th European Go4RocketLeague cup – WithMyBoyzs: Faykow (c), Sebadam & Data.

ESL: What made your team sign up to compete in ESL Play cups?
WMB: The prize is of course the main motivation but we also want to compete in the monthly Finals for the ESL Monthly titles. We are pretty confident that will get the 1st position.

ESL: How many hours do you play per week and what’s your training regiment like? How many of those hours are spent SoloQing and how many are spent in scrims/training?
WMB: We spend at least 20-30 hours per week playing Rocket League and play in every tournament we can. We also scrim against 2-3 teams per week for 1-2 hours.

ESL: What are your long-term aspirations in esports?
WMB: We would like to be the top team in Europe, but also as individuals, be top-level players. Competing in big tournaments such as RLCS is also a big goal of ours.
Sebadam: What keeps me going is my dream to compete in huge competitions such as RLCS. I spend a lot of time on Rocket League and I want to be on the top, that’s why I’m taking a year gap from school to pursue this dream of mine.

ESL: What advice do you have for players/fans looking to follow your footsteps?
WMB: Play a lot and try to learn from pro/high level players.

]]> Futuristic third-person shooter The DRG Initiative is partnering with ESL for a series of public tournaments where thousands of dollars can be won by the best players.

ESL will hold Go4 cups for for twelve weeks, beginning on 1 July.

Teams will be split into European and North American divisions when playing in these weekly contests. Every four weeks, the top eight teams from the two regions will clash in monthly finals, where the best three-person teams will square off for the chance to win money, bragging rights and other exciting prizes.

To give everyone a fighting chance, Slingshot Cartel is pleased to announce a series of free Steam weekends – so anyone who’s interested in competing can sample the game. The game will be free on Steam to access from June 21-24 and June 28th to July 1st.

Anyone playing during this period can also take part in ESL’s first Go4 tournament on 1 July, even if they haven’t yet purchased the game.

The DRG Initiative is a competitive team shooter that takes place in The Greatest Gameshow On Earth – a brutal, televised coliseum of combat that pits teams of three in battle while audience members vote to trigger events and manipulate the arena. It’s currently in Steam Early Access.

]]> In the wake of the recent announcement of the Mushroom Wars 2 Steam version for PC we’re excited to introduce the Go4MushroomWars2 weekly cup series. Up to $800 are up for grabs each month in the global 1on1 tournament series and today is your first chance to participate in the cup series directly from your PC, thanks to the recent release of the Steam version.

As per usual with our Go4 tournaments, each month will see weekly cups on ESL Play leading up to the big monthly final. Player will be able to win cash prizes in each cup. In addition, the top players of each weekly tournament are set to receive Ranking Points which will reward them with better seeding for future competitions. On top of that, each weekly winner will have a guaranteed slot in the eight player monthly finals.

To begin with, the competitions will go for three months from October to December. For December specifically we’re gonna raise the prize monthly finals prize pool to $1,000 to celebrate the final month.
